ASRock Malaysia: USA Buying & Forwarding Guide

ASRock sells motherboards, graphics cards, mini PCs, monitors and PC components with model-specific compatibility, power and regional warranty terms. Before buying a US ASRock product for Malaysia, record the exact model and hardware revision, use the matching CPU, BIOS, memory and storage support information, confirm card dimensions and power, and plan how a retailer return or warranty request would travel.

Identify the exact model and revision

A retailer title can omit a motherboard revision, graphics-card cooler variant or mini PC configuration. Copy every identifier from the listing and compare it with the matching ASRock product and support pages. Photograph the product and box labels on arrival.

• Motherboard: model, revision, socket, chipset, form factor, BIOS, CPU list, memory list, storage support and I/O.
• Graphics card: complete model, GPU, cooler, dimensions, slot thickness, power connectors, recommended PSU and outputs.
• Mini PC: processor support, memory and storage type, wireless hardware, ports, power adapter and whether RAM or SSD is included.
• Monitor: panel, resolution, refresh rate, inputs, stand, VESA mount and power input.

Motherboard CPU and BIOS compatibility

A matching socket does not prove that a processor will boot. Use ASRock’s CPU support list for the exact motherboard and check the minimum BIOS version. Then compare the seller’s stated BIOS, manufacturing information or update options.

1. Open the exact ASRock motherboard support page.
2. Find the processor in the CPU support list and note the required BIOS.
3. Check whether the board offers a BIOS update method that works without an already supported CPU.
4. Download the matching manual and review power, cooler, expansion and front-panel connections.
5. Confirm the operating-system and driver support needed for the build.

BIOS updates carry risk if power is interrupted or the wrong file is used. Follow the exact board’s official instructions.

Memory, storage and expansion checks

Check memory type, maximum capacity, module arrangement and ASRock’s tested-memory list. A kit working on another board with the same chipset is not proof that its rated profile will work on this one. CPU memory-controller limits and BIOS versions also matter.

• Confirm DDR generation; DDR4 and DDR5 are physically and electrically different.
• Check whether the selected CPU changes supported memory speeds or ECC behaviour.
• For M.2 drives, match length, key, SATA or PCIe interface and supported generation.
• Read the manual for lane sharing or disabled SATA and expansion ports.
• Check cooler, graphics card and M.2 heatsink clearance before purchase.

Graphics card dimensions and power

ASRock graphics cards using the same GPU can differ in cooler size, slot thickness, clocks, power connectors and outputs. Use the complete model page rather than a generic GPU specification.

• Measure case length, height and slot clearance, including radiators, fans and cable bend space.
• Confirm PSU capacity, quality, connector count and the model’s current power guidance.
• Check the motherboard slot position and space for other expansion cards.
• Confirm display outputs and cable standards for the required monitors.
• Plan support for a heavy card where appropriate.

Mini PCs, monitors and accessories

ASRock mini PCs may be barebones or configured systems. Confirm whether the listing includes a CPU, memory, storage, wireless card, operating system and regional power adapter. Check supported module types and thermal limits before adding parts.

For monitors, confirm panel type, resolution, refresh rate, adaptive-sync support, display inputs, stand adjustment, VESA mount and electrical input. For Wi-Fi modules, risers, cables and other accessories, match the exact board or system and connector standard.

Power and Malaysia use

Read the electrical label on the exact product and included adapter before use in Malaysia. A physical plug adapter changes plug shape only. Mini PC and monitor adapters must already accept the local voltage and frequency. Desktop component power must be planned for the complete system.

• Match input voltage and frequency, DC output, connector and required wattage.
• Use the supplied or manufacturer-approved adapter for mini PCs and monitors.
• Size a desktop PSU for all components and transient demand.
• Follow the PSU maker’s cable instructions; modular cables are not universally interchangeable.

Battery-powered bundles need transport review

Most ASRock motherboards and graphics cards do not contain a large rechargeable battery, but mini PC or peripheral bundles can include wireless accessories or batteries. Motherboards also contain a small coin cell. Parcel eligibility depends on the exact contents, condition, packaging, carrier, route, country and postcode. Do not add loose batteries without review, and never ship swollen, leaking, damaged or recalled batteries.

Warranty and cross-region routing

ASRock says warranty periods can vary by region and directs end users to the store, retailer or distributor where the product was purchased. For products purchased across regions through online platforms, its current RMA page says the applicable limited warranty follows the country or region where the retailer completes the transaction. Proof of purchase may be required; without it, the warranty start may be calculated from manufacture.

Do not assume a US ASRock motherboard, graphics card, mini PC or monitor receives local Malaysian service. ASRock America also states that its US service applies to products purchased within North America.

1. Save the listing, invoice, order confirmation, serial number and model label.
2. Confirm the retailer return window and ASRock route before payment.
3. Ask whether the exact US product is serviceable in Malaysia.
4. Keep socket covers, packaging and supplied parts needed for a safe return.
5. Budget for tracked international return freight and another outbound shipment.
