Amaboxly can review eligible purchases from the United States for delivery to Singapore. This page explains the three service routes, retailer acceptance, parcel eligibility, Singapore GST and import records, batteries, restricted items, returns and the documents to keep. Eligibility is confirmed per item, seller, carrier and postcode before shipment.

Item, retailer, carrier, postcode and destination eligibility are confirmed for each request.Choose the right Amaboxly route
| Route | Who places the order | What to confirm |
|---|---|---|
| Amaboxly shop order | You order an item currently listed by Amaboxly. | Exact model or style, condition, stock, price, included items and Singapore delivery terms. |
| Buy for me | Amaboxly reviews an eligible US retailer link and, if accepted, assists with the purchase. | Seller, retailer terms, address acceptance, item restrictions, quoted charges and payment requirements. |
| Customer-purchased forwarding | You buy from the retailer after the item and address are reviewed. | You remain responsible for the retailer order; Amaboxly receives only an eligible parcel. |
Shopping for a designer bag? Our Singapore designer-bag buying guide covers matching the exact item, checking the seller and purchase records, and comparing return terms before choosing a buying or forwarding route.
Buy for me does not bypass retailer restrictions. Some US stores reject freight forwarders, non-US payment methods, export transactions or particular product categories. Amaboxly never promises that a retailer will accept an order and does not misrepresent an address.
How USA-to-Singapore forwarding works
- Send the exact product URL, seller, SKU or model, quantity and Singapore postcode.
- Amaboxly reviews retailer acceptance, parcel type, batteries, restricted contents and route availability.
- For Buy for me, wait for the itemised quote and acceptance. For customer-purchased forwarding, place the order only after the receiving details are confirmed.
- Keep the retailer invoice and order confirmation. Use the recipient name and information exactly as instructed.
- After receipt, the parcel is checked against the submitted order details. Any consolidation or repacking is subject to item condition and carrier rules.
- International shipping, customs processing and final delivery follow the selected eligible route.
What to send for a pre-purchase review
- Retailer URL and the exact “sold by” seller.
- Product name, SKU or model number, color, size and quantity.
- New, refurbished, open-box, used or preorder condition.
- Battery type and capacity, liquids, aerosols, magnets, radio functions or other controlled features.
- Retail dimensions and weight when available.
- Singapore delivery postcode and required arrival date.
- Retailer return deadline and any warranty requirement.
Retailer acceptance comes first
A US shipping address does not create permission to use it. Retailers can screen the billing country, payment instrument, account history, product, quantity and destination. Their terms may also prohibit forwarders or exports.
If a retailer refuses the address or cancels the order, Amaboxly does not claim to bypass that decision. An alternative seller may be reviewed only when its current policy permits the transaction. Availability, prices and promotions are not guaranteed.
Singapore GST and low-value goods
Singapore Customs states that GST applies to imported goods. For low-value goods delivered by air or post, the Overseas Vendor Registration regime can require a GST-registered overseas seller, marketplace or redeliverer to collect GST at checkout. Low-value goods are defined by specific conditions and a value not exceeding S$400 at the point of sale.
The S$400 figure is not a blanket tax-free promise. Import relief, permit requirements and collection timing depend on the seller’s GST status, CIF value, import mode, controlled status and how goods are grouped in a consignment. Goods above the threshold and goods arriving by other modes follow different treatment.
Customs value, invoices and service-provider fees
Singapore Customs uses Cost, Insurance and Freight value and includes costs incidental to sale and delivery when determining customs value. Keep the true invoice, payment record, freight charges and product description.
For courier or postal imports, the invoice or order confirmation with the value should be available for clearance. Courier or postal charges can include freight, handling, clearance, permit application, GST or duty advanced on the recipient’s behalf. Ask for an itemised breakdown rather than assuming the product price is the final landed cost.
Controlled and restricted items
Some goods need approval from a Singapore competent authority, and some cannot use a standard parcel route. Examples can include certain health products, food, alcohol, tobacco, radio equipment, weapons or realistic replicas, chemicals, plants, animal products and regulated batteries. The exact rule depends on the item, ingredients, specifications, quantity and intended use.
Do not describe a controlled item vaguely. Send the complete model, ingredients or safety sheet where relevant. Approval is never implied by a retailer accepting payment.
Electronics and radio equipment
IMDA states that imported telecommunications equipment for personal or company use must comply with relevant technical specifications before use. For Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, radio or transmitter products, confirm Singapore frequency, power, network and licensing compatibility.
- Match the exact regional model and supported bands.
- Check SIM, eSIM and carrier restrictions.
- Confirm the charger input, plug and required wattage.
- Verify software, account and regional service availability.
- Do not assume a US warranty is serviced in Singapore.
Batteries, power banks and damaged devices
Lithium batteries can be installed in a device, packed with equipment or shipped separately, and each configuration can receive different carrier treatment. Power banks are treated as batteries rather than ordinary chargers by many air transport rules.
- Provide the battery chemistry, watt-hours or capacity and quantity.
- Never send swollen, leaking, damaged, defective or recalled batteries.
- Loose batteries, power banks and large battery packs require advance review.
- Used electronics must be safely powered down and protected against activation.
- Eligibility can change by carrier, aircraft route and final-delivery postcode.
Power and plug compatibility
Singapore uses different mains plugs from the United States and operates at a different nominal voltage. Read the adapter label for input voltage and frequency. A plug adapter changes only the plug shape; it does not convert voltage, frequency, wattage, polarity or connector type.
For appliances, audio equipment, beauty devices and tools, verify the exact voltage and motor or heating requirements before purchase. Use an appropriately rated converter only when the manufacturer permits it.
Dimensions, consolidation and repacking
International freight can be charged by actual or volumetric weight. Large retail boxes, protective foam, stands and accessories can cost more to ship than expected. Send official package dimensions when available.
Consolidation may reduce repeated base charges, but it can also raise the consignment value, combine restricted items or change customs and carrier handling. Repacking depends on product condition, protection needs, warranty seals and carrier rules. It is not guaranteed for every parcel.
Returns, defects and warranty
Test time can be short once a US retailer’s return period begins. International delivery does not pause the retailer deadline. Save the listing, invoice, serial number, parcel photos and unboxing evidence.
- Check the return window and whether international or forwarded purchases are excluded.
- Inspect the product immediately after delivery.
- Keep all packaging, labels and accessories until testing is complete.
- Contact the seller before sending a return.
- Budget for return freight, insurance, customs records and possible restocking fees.
Amaboxly can provide records for its own service where available, but cannot create a retailer invoice, approve a manufacturer claim or guarantee local warranty service.
Estimate the complete landed cost
- US product price and seller.
- US domestic delivery and applicable sales tax.
- Buy for me charge when that route is accepted.
- International freight, insurance and protective packaging.
- Singapore GST, duty where applicable, clearance and service-provider fees.
- Final-mile delivery and remote-area charges where applicable.
- Adapters, transformers, replacement parts or local compliance costs.
- Possible return or warranty freight.
Use the current retailer checkout and an itemised Amaboxly quote. Exchange rates, carrier charges, customs treatment and delivery fees can change.
Items that usually need extra review
- Phones, tablets, laptops, gaming devices and radio equipment.
- Perfume, cosmetics, aerosols, nail products and liquids.
- Food, supplements, medical devices and health products.
- Power banks, spare batteries and battery-heavy equipment.
- Large monitors, furniture, fitness equipment and fragile displays.
- Used, refurbished, recalled or damaged items.
- Items with export controls, age restrictions or seller-imposed limits.
Singapore is one eligible destination, not a blanket guarantee
Singapore appears on Amaboxly’s current eligible destination list. Each request still depends on the retailer, product, condition, batteries, dimensions, carrier, customs requirements and postcode. A country listing does not mean every item or seller is eligible.
Frequently asked questions
Can Amaboxly buy from any US store for delivery to Singapore?
No. Buy for me is reviewed case by case and does not bypass retailer restrictions.
Is every parcel below S$400 free of GST?
No. Low-value-goods GST can be collected at checkout under the OVR regime, and relief or permit treatment depends on the specific import conditions.
Can I forward a power bank to Singapore?
It requires advance battery and carrier review. Do not order until the exact model, capacity and route are confirmed.
Will a US appliance work in Singapore?
Only if its input rating and the intended setup support Singapore voltage and frequency. A plug adapter alone does not convert electricity.
Can parcels be consolidated?
Sometimes, after review. Product protection, restricted contents, consignment value and carrier rules determine whether consolidation is appropriate.
Does Amaboxly guarantee Singapore customs clearance?
No. Customs and competent authorities make clearance decisions. Accurate product descriptions, values and documents are required.
