Give each forwarder the same shipment details

Prepare the product link, seller, variant, quantity, paid value, number of incoming packages, destination country and postcode. Include the outer box weight and dimensions if known. Item dimensions and packed dimensions are different; a seller’s product measurements can understate the international shipping box.

For an item you have not purchased, label the measurements as estimates. Ask what changes after warehouse measurement and whether the rate depends on a carrier, warehouse, membership tier or promotion. Compare the same currency and note when a quote expires.

Ask for item and route acceptance before committing to a retailer. A country appearing in a destination selector does not confirm that every postcode, product or shipping method is supported. Check the receiving address and customer identifier with the chosen service.

Separate freight from the complete delivered cost

Write down every applicable amount: retailer price and US delivery, checkout tax, buying assistance if needed, receiving or processing, international freight, packing or consolidation, storage, final delivery and destination import or clearance charges. Include relevant payment or currency conversion costs when comparing your own total.

Mark each line as included, separately charged, not applicable or not yet known. An unknown line is not zero. Ask who collects import charges and when. Read our New Hampshire sales-tax guide: the state’s lack of general sales tax does not remove destination import charges.

Read the shipment terms as well as the calculator. A freight estimate may be useful for budgeting while still excluding services or amounts that are needed for your actual purchase.

Understand how different calculators work

MyUS’s pricing page describes its weight-based TruePrice system and lists exclusions for oversized or specially packed shipments and additional services. Check that your exact parcel qualifies rather than applying a weight-only headline to every box.

Shipito’s calculator asks for warehouse and parcel details and explains that its shipping estimates exclude service fees and customs duties and taxes. Select the relevant warehouse and review the separate service charges.

Stackry’s FAQ explains dimensional weight, storage, consolidation and repacking. Confirm the applicable services and charges for your parcel instead of assuming a free account means every operation is free.

Check Amaboxly’s published worldwide freight rates

Use the worldwide quote guidance to request current destination pricing. The rate-card description and examples below record the check on 2 October 2026; they are historical and must not be treated as a current shipment quote. Standard non-Malaysia USD/kg rates are twice the corresponding Malaysia tier. Seventeen verified destinations instead use the Buy&Ship Global USD shipping benchmark less US$0.10 per billable kilogram. Malaysia retains its own rate sheet.

Checked examples at 5 kg, 2 October 2026:

• South Korea: benchmark US$44.00; Amaboxly air freight US$43.50.
• India: benchmark US$88.00; Amaboxly air freight US$87.50.
• United Arab Emirates: benchmark US$155.00; Amaboxly air freight US$154.50.

The difference is 5 × US$0.10 = US$0.50. The benchmark uses rounded-up pounds and initial/additional-pound bands, so its effective USD/kg changes with weight. Use the selected destination and confirmed billable weight rather than multiplying a 1 kg price by five.

Compare the inclusions: the competitor’s published shipping service and Amaboxly’s air-freight line have different delivery scopes. Amaboxly’s door delivery, import or clearance charges and applicable services are separately confirmed. These examples do not establish a cheaper complete delivered price. Rates can change; check the current card and final quote. A weight between Amaboxly’s listed tiers uses the next tier; over 30 kg requires a separate quote.

Use a simple like-for-like comparison

Illustrative arithmetic: quote A lists US$35 freight and a required US$8 service charge, giving US$43 for those two lines. Quote B lists US$41 freight and includes that same service, giving US$41. B is US$2 lower for those included lines, even though its freight line is higher.

This example uses invented quotes and does not represent any named forwarder. It compares only those two lines; retailer delivery, taxes, import charges and other applicable costs still need accounting. The comparison is meaningful only if the parcel, route, service, delivery scope and exclusions match.

If one route changes the packing, compare its packing charge and final billable weight together. Combining parcels can change dimensions, handling requirements and timing. Ask for the outcome and cost before authorizing changes; do not assume consolidation always saves money.

Compare the service you will actually need

• Timing: separate warehouse processing from transit and customs. Check when the estimate begins and whether it counts business or calendar days.
• Storage: confirm the included period, start date, later charges and what happens if a parcel remains unclaimed.
• Returns: check the seller’s deadline, warehouse handling and return-label cost before international dispatch. Use our returns checklist.
• Shipment cover: read the actual terms, exclusions, claim deadline and evidence requirements. Amaboxly does not sell freight insurance; confirm shipment risk before sending fragile or valuable goods.
• Support: confirm where to send the invoice, tracking numbers and declaration corrections. Keep written confirmation of the final quote and agreed services.
